DEMENTIA CARE SERVICES

What is Dementia?

Dementia is a collective term used to describe a range of progressive neurological disorders. It primarily affects memory, cognitive thinking, behavior, and the ability to perform everyday activities. Common forms include Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and Lewy body dementia.

A Unique Journey for Every Individual

At Care With Dignity Partnerships, we recognize that no two people experience dementia in the same way. The impact and progression of the condition vary greatly from person to person.

This is why our Oxfordshire dementia services focus on the individual’s unique needs rather than a generic checklist. Understanding the “why” behind the symptoms allows us to provide more effective, compassionate care that supports both the service user and their family

Supporting Family Carers

We recognise the vital role family carers play and offer much-needed support to ensure they have the resources and respite they need. Our goal is to reduce stress and provide a balanced approach to care.

Person-Centered Dementia Support

We believe in seeing the whole person, not just the condition. Our approach is built on open communication; we talk to you and your family to discover:

  • What is important to you: Honoring your history and preferences.
  • What you can do: Focusing on strengths and maintaining daily skills.
  • Your goals: Identifying what you want to achieve from your home-based dementia care.

Testimonials

What Our Service Users & Support Workers Are Saying

Thank you very much for your tremendous support over the past month since Mum's hospital admission.

Michelle not only dealt very competently with things on the day of the emergency but has been superlative in the time since Mum was discharged, adapting to the new circumstances at home, suggesting improvements and adaptations, and helping me become empowered to be a better carer (e.g. demonstrating a good way of providing a wash when I asked for help), and generally being cheerful and kind with Mum in a way which is really lovely to see. Vanessa has also been superb, stepping into the breach to get things sorted out and remaining warm and compassionate throughout. I love that they have both been instrumental in suggesting the inflatable hair-washing basin and making sure Mum gets a hair wash. Michelle suggested improvements to the layout of the room and the positioning of the bed. They have also suggested skin care creams and helped me prepare for conversations with professionals. I have found the support via the other care agency less than what we would have wished, and it has made me feel quite anxious. It has therefore been an absolute blessing to have Michelle and Vanessa around as an extra pair of eyes on Mum and a reassuring presence at a challenging time. I am personally so grateful to them both, and I hope you will be able to recognise their excellent service.
