The following personal attributes are considered essential to the post of Senior Care Assistant and Senior/Supervisor: A level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care is preferable for a senior position at Care with Dignity however the opportunity to obtain a diploma is available for the right candidate;

As an employee of Care With Dignity you must respect the requirements set out in the General Data Protection Regulations 2018, and ensure that you are aware of your responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974.
It’s also necessary to ensure that you read and abide by the Code of Practice of both the United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA) and the General Social Care Council (GSCC).
In addition to the responsibilities and duties defined as a Care Assistant, a Senior may be called upon to conduct the following duties in the community:
- Contact and visit Service users as directed by the organisation to carry out Service user reviews:
- Ensure review questionnaires are completed and returned to the office for filing.
- Ensure all paperwork in the Service users’ file has been completed and Service user information is recorded in line with company policy. Ensure all files have spare paperwork and Care Plans are up to date. Check that all forms are being completed correctly. Remove and replace used forms as required. When errors are observed, to record copies of relevant Service user forms to discuss with the Care Assistant(s) concerned.
- Monitor work standards of Care Assistants by undertaking spot checks.
- Report on Service user visits, noting any concerns regarding Service users or Care Assistants, to the Supervisor, Area Manager or Managing Director.
- Visit new Service users for assessments and take in Service user files where requested. Ensure that the Service user is aware of policies and procedures. Obtain signatures on contracts and other documentation as required by management.
- To participate in, and generally support, the supervision of Support workers as required.
